Amy Stewart is a board-certified family nurse practitioner and the lead APP (advanced practice provider) for her division at Capital Digestive Care, and has clinical interest/specialty in IBD, IBS, anal HPV, and weight inclusive care. She has been published twice in the last few years, including in the New England Journal of Medicine and is a sub-investigator for the clinical research division for her practice. Amy manages the clinical and prior authorization team for their in-office infusion center, serving 400+ patients every month. She is on the APP committee for the American College of Gastroenterology and chairs the APP mentoring sub-committee. Amy was adjunct faculty at Georgetown University, teaching primary care for the WHNP/CNM program. She is certified in high resolution anoscopy, and she performs HRA with biopsies and ablations. In her role at Capital Digestive Care, she co-founded the infusion quality committee and serves on the EMR committee. Amy has a passion for APP education/development and recently founded a GI APP networking group locally that meets quarterly. She is a nationally recognized speaker for the topics of inflammatory bowel disease and anal HPV/anal cancer screening.
