Pallav Mehta, M.D. is a Medical Oncologist/Hematologist specializing in breast cancer practicing in the Philadelphia area. He currently serves as Assistant Professor of Medicine, Director of Integrative Oncology and Practice Development at MD Anderson Cancer Center @ Cooper in Camden, NJ. He is also Chief of the Division of Hematology/Oncology and Director of Oncology for Redeemer Health in Partnership with MD Anderson Cancer Center @ Cooper in Meadowbrook, PA.
In Feb 2023, Dr. Mehta joined Reimagine Care as Medical Director. Reimagine Care is a venture-backed, AI/tech-enabled, human-led oncology innovation company transforming the cancer care experience both for patients and providers. He continues to manage patients with breast cancer but in a more limited capacity.
After graduating cum laude from New York University in 1995, Dr. Mehta achieved formal certification as an Athletic Trainer by the American Council on Exercise (A.C.E.). After 2 years employed at a large fitness center in New York City, he moved to Philadelphia to attend Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Jefferson University where he received his M.D. with honors in 2001. This was followed by an internship and residency at Temple University Hospital and then a 3-year combined fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at the Fox Chase Cancer Center.
He is currently board certified in Medical Oncology, Hematology and Integrative Medicine. He is the Cancer Liaison Physician to the Commission on Cancer (COC) and appointed Chair of Cancer Committee by the CEO of Redeemer Health. He is also co-author of “After Cancer Care – The Definitive Self-Care Guide to Getting and Staying Well for Patients after Cancer” aiming to provide evidence-based information to patients regarding lifestyle optimization after cancer treatment. The book is an international bestseller and has been translated into 3 languages.
Along with direct clinical patient care, he is also involved in clinical research as Protocol Author, Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-PI on numerous clinical trials, has internal grant funding, and started and leads the robust clinical research program @ Redeemer Health/MDACC@Cooper. He has also been instrumental in the development of numerous programs in the oncology space, including onco-fertility, cardio-oncology, nutritional optimization, low-dose CT screening for lung cancer, and integrative oncology to name a few. He has spoken nationally and internationally on various topics related to breast cancer, genetics/genomics, and integrative oncology.
He has received over 35 Castle Connolly “Top Doc” distinctions regionally and nationally just over the last 10 yrs in Cancer Care, Women’s Health, Breast Cancer, Genetics, and Integrative Oncology.
He considers himself quite the connoisseur of stand-up comedy, film, fitness, and baseball history. He resides in Philadelphia with his wife and 3 children, ages 22, 20 and 15.
