Dr Tay is currently the Head of the Vascular and Interventional Radiology Department at Singapore General Hospital and the Deputy Head for Singhealth Duke NUS Vascular Centre. He is Clinical Professor at the Duke NUS Medical School Singapore and Clinical Associate Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in National University of Singapore. Dr Tay did his medical and radiology training in Singapore. He completed a 12 month Clinical Fellowship in Vascular & Interventional Radiology followed by a 6 month Research Fellowship at the University of British Columbia from 2000 to 2001. Dr Tay’s subspecialty interest is in vascular interventions of the aorta, lower extremity and dialysis access as well as Interventional Oncology. Dr Tay has authored and co authored 171 publications and 390 oral/poster presentations. He has delivered more than 400 invited lectures at national and international conferences and has 6 patents to his name. For his academic contributions in Interventional Radiology in the international arena, Dr Tay was conferred Fellow of the Society of Interventional Radiologists (FSIR) in 2010 and Fellow of the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology Society of Europe (FCIRSE) in 2018. He was awarded Distinguished Senior Clinician Award by Ministry of Health Singapore in 2023 and was inducted into Duke NUS Medical School Singapore Hall of Master Academic Clinicians in 2024. Dr Tay is the President Elect of the Asia Pacific Society of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology (APSCVIR) and was the Past President of the College of Radiologists Singapore from 2019-2021.
