Carol Melvin was named Chief Operating Officer of Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute at Baptist Health South Florida in May 2014. Prior to that position she was Vice President of Clinical Operations for Baptist Hospital for 7 years. In her COO role, she provides leadership and strategic direction for the Cardiac and Vascular product line for all entities at Baptist Health. Carol has been a member of the Baptist Health leadership team for the past 35 years and was instrumental in the development of the Miami Cardiac and Vascular Institute.
With over 43 years of healthcare leadership experience in a variety of areas, including business and system development, clinical operations, strategic planning, marketing and joint venture management, Ms. Melvin has successfully developed and led a variety of health care system strategic initiatives and planning projects in the cardiac and vascular field. The Miami Cardiac and Vascular Institute is one of those successful initiatives. She has also been the key architect of a successful joint venture management company model with physicians.
Ms. Melvin received her undergraduate degree from Barry University and Master’s in Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University.
