Ellen Ritchie, MD, is an associate professor of medicine in the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology and assistant director of the Leukemia Program at Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University and an attending physician at New York-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City.
Dr Ritchie received her medical degree from the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University in New York City. She completed her internship and residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at Columbia Presbyterian, New York-Presbyterian Hospital, and then she then joined the faculty Weill Cornell Medical College.
Dr Ritchie’s research interests center around the treatment of older patients with myeloid malignancies. She is a principal investigator for clinical trials investigating new diagnostic techniques, supportive care strategies, and therapeutics aimed at these older patients, collaborating with investigators in the Division of Geriatrics and Gerontology. She has a particular interest in Myeloproliferative Disorders and Myelodysplastic Syndromes.
She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, and American Society of Geriatrics.
Author or coauthor of 2 book chapters as well articles published in such journals as Blood, Haematologica, Blood Advances, Cancer, Leukemia & Lymphoma, and The Lancet Oncology, among others, Dr Ritchie has been a frequent speaker at medical meetings and educational programs.
