Deepak L. Bhatt MD, MPH, FACC, FAHA, FESC, MSCAI, is Director of Mount Sinai Heart and the Dr. Valentin Fuster Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Health System.

Dr. Bhatt obtained his science degree at MIT, MD from Cornell, MPH from Harvard, and is working on his Executive MBA from Oxford. He trained in internal medicine at UPenn and cardiology at Cleveland Clinic. He completed fellowships in interventional cardiology/cerebral and peripheral vascular intervention and served as Chief Interventional Fellow at Cleveland Clinic, where was interventional cardiologist, Associate Professor of Medicine, Director of the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship, Associate Director of the Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowship, and Associate Director of the Cardiovascular Coordinating Center. He then served as Chief of Cardiology at VA Boston Healthcare System and then Executive Director of Interventional Cardiovascular Programs at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He was a Senior Investigator in the TIMI Study Group. He became Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School (2012). He was Brigham and Women’s 2014 Braunwald Scholar. He was listed in Best Doctors in America (2005-2020). He received the Research Mentor Award from Brigham and Women’s (2016), Eugene Braunwald Teaching Award for Excellence in the Teaching of Clinical Cardiology from Brigham and Women’s (2017), ACC’s Distinguished Mentor Award (2018), AHA’s Distinguished Scientist Award (2019), NLA’s Honorary Lifetime Membership Award (2021), and SCAI’s Master designation (2022). Dr. Bhatt has authored/co-authored >1900 publications and is listed by the Web of Science Group as a Highly Cited Researcher (2014-2022).
