Dr. James Matera is a practicing nephrologist, now transitioned into Chief Medical Officer at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold New Jersey. He contnues to provide nephrology services with an emphasis on home dialysis and End Stage Renal Disease Management. His skill as a medical staff leader has also bridged the gap from clinician to administator with. keen focus on value-based medicine and reduction in clinical variation. He has lectured extensively in both clinical and administrative capacities and has been a key leader for CentraState's response to the COVID-19 pandemic being featured on local, state, and national boradcasts. Other passions include gourmet cooking, which led to him winning Food Network's "Cooks vs. Cons" Season 3, episode 10 competition against 2 chefs.
