ROBERT WERMERS, M.D. is a Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science and a Consultant in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, Metabolism, and Nutrition at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Wermers obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. He completed his training in internal medicine training and fellowship in Endocrinology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

Dr. Wermers clinical interests include metabolic bone disease and transplant endocrinology. His research has focused on metabolic bone disorders including primary hyperparathyroidism, hypercalcemia, Paget’s disease of bone, osteoporosis, and other metabolic bone diseases.

Dr. Wermers is chair of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, Metabolism and Nutrition at the Mayo Clinic Rochester. He is also chair of the Enterprise Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and Mayo Clinic Midwest Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
