Dr. Kathryn Dambrino is the Chair of the Graduate Nursing Program at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, where she has served on the faculty since 2019. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2010 and her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Belmont University in 2016. Her scholarly interests include opioid overdose prevention, substance use disorder, global health, antimicrobial stewardship, and quality improvement in primary/urgent care, and she has contributed publications, presentations, and initiatives aimed at improving public health outcomes in these areas. Dr. Dambrino is passionate about providing innovative, evidence-based education that prepares the next generation of DNP leaders to transform healthcare systems and address complex problems. In her clinical practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), she provides holistic care to patients at Belmont University Health Services clinic with an emphasis on urgent care, mental health, and women's health services. Prior to becoming an FNP, she worked as an orthopedic trauma nurse in Mississippi, Tennessee, and Melbourne, Australia. Outside of work, she enjoys writing and singing music in Nashville, traveling the world, exploring new food spots, and spending time with her Shiba Inu pup, Birdie.
