Otto F. Kernberg, MD, FAPA, is Director of the Personality Disorders Institute at The New York Presbyterian Hospital, Westchester Division, and Professor of Psychiatry at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University. Dr. Kernberg is a Past President of the International Psychoanalytic Association. He is also a Training and Supervising Analyst at the Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research. His latest books are The Inseparable Nature of Love and Aggression (American Psychiatric Publishing, Washington, DC, 2011), Transference-Focused Psychotherapy for Borderline Personality Disorder: A Clinical Guide (with Frank E.
