Dr. Prajnan Das graduated from Stanford University and Harvard Medical School. He completed his residency at the Harvard Joint Center for Radiation Therapy and completed an MPH degree from the Harvard School of Public Health. He joined the faculty at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2004. He currently serves as Deputy Division Head for Education for Radiation Oncology, and Department Chair ad interim for Gastrointestinal Radiation Oncology. He has previously served as Quality Officer, and the Residency and Fellowship Program Director. He is a nationally recognized expert on the treatment of gastrointestinal cancers, with over 290 peer reviewed publications. He currently serves as Co-Chair of the NCI Rectal-Anal Task Force and Chair of the ASTRO Rectal Cancer Guidelines Panel. Dr. Das has received many honors for his contributions to education, including the University of Texas Regents' Outstanding Teaching Award, the William Randolph Hearst Foundations Faculty Achievement Award in Education, and induction into the University of Texas Shine Academy of Health Science Education.
