Dr Guttman-Yassky is the Waldman Professor of Dermatology and Immunology and the health system chair of the Department of Dermatology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York. She is also the director of the Center for Excellence in Eczema and the Laboratory for Inflammatory Skin Diseases. Dr Guttman-Yassky attended the Sackler School of Medicine at the Tel-Aviv University and received her PhD from the Br-Ilan University, Israel. After her first board certification in dermatology in Israel, Dr Guttman completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the Rockefeller University in the Laboratory for Investigative Dermatology, and her second dermatology residency training at Weill-Cornell Medical College in NY.
Her major research focus areas are atopic dermatitis (AD)/eczema, and recently extended her research interests to hair loss disorders such as alopecia areata and scarring hair loss disorders, chronic hand eczema, keloids, ichthyosis, and other skin diseases. She has recently made discoveries linking alopecia areata to the atopic/allergic march, with therapeutic implications, and has delivered many keynote and plenary presentations in international and national meetings and has authored more than 370 peer-reviewed publications.
