Jess Romeo is a psychiatric nurse practitioner and clinical social worker with a private practice in the DC Metro Area. He completed his B.A in psychology at the University of Pennsylvania, a Master's in Social Work from Simmons University, and a Bachelor's and Master's in Nursing from the MGH Institute of Health Professions. Jess's multidisciplinary perspective informs a philosophy where psychiatry equals science plus soul, emphasizing the importance of listening to both gold-standard evidence and what communities are telling us about themselves. He is the founder of My Gender IQ, an educational initiative aimed at increasing trans competency in healthcare and human services. Their trainings foster critical analysis and continual growth, creating brave spaces that not only support the career development of healthcare professionals but also center the dignity of the queer and trans community.
