Audrey Arona
MD

Dr. Arona obtained her BS at University of California, San Diego, dual majoring in Biochemistry and Cellular Biology. She graduated with her MD in 1991 from University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed her OB/GYN residency in 1995 from University of Southern California. She is a member of and Board Certified with the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of and previous Board Member of the American Medical Association. Dr. Arona practiced OB/GYN in private practice for over 30 years, specializing in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases and disorders affecting women of all ages. Dr. Arona earned a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and served the GNR Health Department as a physician consultant for six years, training and mentoring clinical staff and validating GYN clinical care. In 2018 she became their Medical Director and now serves the GNR Health Department as CEO and District Health Director.
Dr. Arona gives her time to many organizations as a Board member, including the Community Foundation of NE Georgia, the Latin American Association, the Salvation Army, the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce, the Medical Reserve Corp, and Gwinnett Ballet. She has been recognized for her accomplishments with many awards, including the Mary Jane Seacole Award for a Public Health Visionary, a Scott Hudgens Distinguished Citizen Award, Blake Shelton’s local Friend and Hero award, a Public Service Award from the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce, a Physician Champion award from the Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation, a Hero of Gwinnett Cities award from the Gwinnett Municipal Association, several Proclamations by local mayors and city councils, and is the recipient of a Georgia Senate Resolution for Valiant Public Service for her accomplishments during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Arona is an entrepreneur of two previously successful business ventures. She also received a U.S. Patent for the development of a surgical instrument and has a second patent pending on another medical solution.
