Cassandra has been a Senior Scientist in the Division of Overdose Prevention's Overdose Morbidity Team since April 2024 and has served as an epidemiologist on this team since 2019. During this time, she has served as a Morbidity Science Officer for the Overdose Data to Action (OD2A) and OD2A-S cooperative agreements and as DOSE Discharge Data Project Lead for OD2A-S. She co-chairs the Division-wide Social Determinants of Health Work Group and has published using DOSE syndromic and discharge data and various other data sources, including NSDUH, HCUP, EMS data, and NAVIPPRO. Prior to working in DOP, Cassandra was an EIS Officer in NCCDPHP with the International Micronutrient Malnutrition Prevention and Control Team (IMMPaCT) and a contractor with the BRFSS Survey Operations Team. Cassandra received her MPH and PhD in epidemiology from Emory University and her Bachelor’s from Duke University.
