Al Rodriguez
Agent
Osceola Narcotics Investigative Bureau

Al Rodriguez started his career with the Philadelphia Police Department in 1990. He transferred to Florida and onto the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office in 1995 where he pursued narcotics investigations earning the rank of Detective with their Undercover Narcotics Unit. In 2007, Al was assigned to the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation.
During his time within the MBI Narcotics Division, Al has conducted numerous long-term investigations with a focus on drug trafficking organizations that are fueled by either foreign or domestic cartels. Typically, these investigations begin at a local Orlando level, once larger sources are identified, the investigations usually go Statewide, nationally (Texas, California, New York, Puerto Rico), and internationally (Mexico, Canada, South America). Al is a seasoned undercover agent who has met face to face with heroin and fentanyl distributors and made hand-to-hand purchases of large quantities. Many of these distributors were local based, violent felons, but Al has had the opportunity to meet and buy trafficking amounts of opiates from cartel members as well.
Al is near to retirement and is passing on his three decades of knowledge to up and coming detectives who need to learn the craft. Both of his sons are following in his footsteps.
