Gregory Burke is a seasoned professional with a diverse background spanning multiple sectors. As the Executive Director of Beacons of Hope since December 2023, he has returned to the mountains of Eastern Kentucky to help his community recover from addiction. Gregory's distinguished career includes a 20-year tenure with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, retiring in November 2023 as the Senior Deputy Assistant Director (SES) of Federal Prison Industries.
Gregory began his journey in 2003 as a Tool Maker Supervisor at USP Big Sandy (KY). He later served as Associate Warden at USP Lee (VA). As Senior Deputy Assistant Director (SES), he led the nation's premier recidivism-reducing program, overseeing operations in 79 UNICOR factories across 58 facilities.
Before joining the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Gregory honed his skills in the automotive industry in Detroit, Michigan. He studied Applied Sciences at Morehead State University (KY), building a foundation for his illustrious career.
