Venita Embry is a Court System Research and Technical Assistance Provider in the Court Systems Research Program at RTI International’s Center for Criminal Legal Systems Research. Her expertise encompasses health services, violence prevention, and criminal legal system research. She has a strong background in process and outcome evaluations, data management, and both quantitative and qualitative research methods. Dr. Embry’s work has included prosecutorial decision-making, public defense, health disparities, substance abuse, gender-based violence, and community health. Her commitment to improving public health and justice systems has been demonstrated through her comprehensive approach to integrating evidence-based practices in the behavioral health and court system domains. Dr. Embry has extensive experience creating academic and practitioner-focused dissemination products and presenting findings to diverse audiences.
