Curt Lindsley serves as a consultant for the Opioid Response Network on behalf of the state of Alabama. In 2019, he co-founded Best Life Recovery Residences, an Alabama Alliance for Recovery Residences (AARR) certified recovery residence program for women. As the Founding President of the Board of Directors for AARR, Curt was instrumental in leading AARR to achieve accreditation from the National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR) in July 2021. This accreditation authorizes AARR as the sole agency in Alabama to certify recovery residence programs based on the NARR Standards. These standards are recognized by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) as evidence-based best practices for operating recovery housing programs. Curt also founded and directed the inaugural Alabama Recovery Advocacy Day in Montgomery, Alabama, on March 5, 2024. Additionally, Curt is an active member of the Alabama Opioid Overdose and Addiction Council, where he chairs the Parity Act Working Group on the Treatment and Recovery Standing Committee and the Alabama Recovery Housing Initiative Working Group of the Law Enforcement Standing Committee. Curt serves as an Advisory Board Member for the Alabama School of Alcohol and Other Drug Studies (ASADS). He also is co-chairman of End Addiction Sand Mountain, a regional community awareness event for five counties of the Sand Mountain region in Northeast Alabama. Curt speaks at conferences and community events, and is passionate about collaborating with state agencies and recovery organization leaders to increase access to evidence-based recovery resources and recovery capital throughout Alabama.
