Dr. Kacie Rubalcava is a social science analyst with SAMHSA’s Center for Behavioral Health Statistics and Quality (CBHSQ). Kacie primarily works on the Drug Abuse Warning Network (DAWN) system which is a nationwide public health surveillance system that captures data directly from the electronic health records of participating hospitals on emergency department (ED) visits related to recent alcohol and/or drug use. Kacie holds a PhD in American Studies and uses her interdisciplinary training to bring the human element to statistical research and analysis.
