Scott founded Gatespring, a consulting firm dedicated to strengthening the substance use field through compassionate, energized instruction and sustainable solutions. He is a person in long-term recovery and a nationally recognized consultant on substance-related issues. Scott has advised SAMHSA, healthcare systems, detention centers, and community organizations on integrating Medications for Opioid Use Disorders (MOUD). He leads Rutherford County, NC's opioid litigation settlement programming and provides data analysis, clinical supervision, and operational consultation for HRSA and SAMHSA grantees. His clinical background is rooted in Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. Scott has held leadership roles in the North Carolina Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence and Addiction Professionals of North Carolina before acting as the director of the largest Opioid Treatment Program in North Carolina. He is committed to advancing ethical, clinically sound, and accessible treatment options, focusing on positively impacting individuals, families, and communities affected by substance use disorders.
