Courtney Maynard, a native of eastern Kentucky, has spent her last 13 years working in her community to assist the residents of the Commonwealth in finding solutions to multigenerational curses such as substance misuse and mental health stigma. Courtney joined Operation UNITE within the KY HELP Statewide Call Center in October 2017, where she helped build the program that is the first of its kind in the state. In July 2024, she moved into her role as Education Director after serving as Prevention Programs Coordinator for 2 years, where she used her platform to inform youth and adults the importance of substance misuse prevention and education. As Education Director, she oversees Prevention Programming, Community Coalitions, & Grant initiatives. Ms. Maynard is a graduate from Eastern Kentucky University with a MS in Industrialized-Organizational Psychology. In her previous roles, she acted as a Substance Use Counselor for a facility geared towards pregnant women, a family preservation specialist, & a child protective services investigator for the Cabinet of Health and Family Services. Ms. Maynard & her children, Christian and Piper, reside in Johnson County, KY. In her spare time, she is a board member for the Eastern Ky ASD&SPD support group, where she helps raise awareness for the rights and needs of neurodiverse children and assists in bringing sensory-friendly events into local communities. She is committed in both her professional & personal life in advocating for those whose voices are not often heard and bringing awareness of those discrepancies to the community.
