Dr. Jose A. Jaller is an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Dr. Phillip Frost Department of Dermatology & Cutaneous Surgery. His expertise includes wound healing, inflammatory skin conditions, complex medical dermatology, and clinical research.
Dr. Jaller completed his medical training at Universidad del Norte in Colombia, graduating with distinction. He advanced his studies with a postdoctoral fellowship in wound healing research at the University of Miami, where he focused on innovative therapeutic approaches such as skin substitutes, miRNA, and microbiome analysis in chronic wound management. He furthered his expertise with a fellowship in dermatopharmacology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, conducting clinical trials on novel immunotherapies for conditions like atopic dermatitis, alopecia areata, psoriasis and hidradenitis suppurativa.
Dr. Jaller completed an internal medicine internship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center, where he was recognized for his excellence in patient care. He then pursued a dermatology residency at the same institution, ultimately serving as Chief Resident. During his tenure, he earned prestigious accolades, including the Rising Derm Star Award at the Winter Clinical Dermatology Conference.
He is an accomplished researcher, widely published in leading dermatology journals, with contributions in areas like venous ulcers, wound healing innovations, and dermatologic therapies. His work has been presented at major national and international conferences, including the American Academy of Dermatology and International Investigative Dermatology.
