Philip T. McCabe CSW, CAS, DRCC, is an addiction professional and community educator since 1985. He is a Certified Social Worker, Nationally Certified Addiction Specialist in the areas of Compulsive Gambling, Sexual Addiction, Alcoholism, Tobacco, and Other Drugs. He is also a Certified Domestic Violence Counselor and Disaster Response Crisis Counselor, as well as a Certified Sexologist from the American Board of Sexology. He is a Health Education Specialist for Rutgers School of Public Health, Center for Public Health Workforce Development, an adjunct instructor for Rutgers School of Nursing, and Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Mr. McCabe serves on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Lesbian & Gay Addiction Professionals and holds the position of President. He has provided public health advocacy and community education within the LGBT communities since 1979. He contributed to the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment’s “A Provider’s Introduction to Substance Abuse Treatment for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Individuals” as a principal writer on family issues and for the “Healthy People 2010 LGBT Companion Document.” In 2009, he was selected as a Master Trainer for the SAMHSA/CSAT Addiction Technology Transfer Center Curriculum on LGBT Clients. He has presented at over 300 Addiction, Behavioral Health, Sexual Health, and Public Health conferences.
