Lynn Mohr

LYNN D MOHR is an Associate Professor/Department Chair, Women, Children, Family Nursing at Rush University College of Nursing and serves as Program Director of the Pediatric and Neonatal Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Programs. Dr. Mohr holds a PhD in Nursing Science from Rush University, MS in Nursing, University of Kansa, BS in nursing, South Dakota State and a diploma in nursing,St. Luke’s School of Nursing. She has been a certified pediatric clinical nurse specialist for over 20 years and is an expert in pediatric nursing and the role of the clinical nurse specialist. Prior to joining Rush, Dr. Mohr was the lead clinical nurse specialist for the Advocate System, Chicago, IL where she was responsible for direct patient care, nursing practice and led many systemwide iniatives. As the Rush DNP Pediatric and Neonatal CNS Program Director she provides leadership to both programs and is responsible for student outcomes. Many of her students have presented and published their work at national conferences.

Dr. Mohr also serves as the Department Chair for the Women, Children, Family Nursing Department at Rush University College of Nursing.

Dr. Mohr has a research emphasis on adolescent experience with wound, ostomy, and continence issues. Dr. Mohr has published several articles, and presents at national conferences on pediatric nursing, the role of the clinical nurse specialist and the adolescent experiencing an ostomy. Further she has written several opinion editorials on pediatric care issues, some of which have been printed in the Washington Post. She serves as a manuscript reviewer for several journals, an editorial board member for Comprehensive Child and Adolescent Nursing journal and as an editorial section editor for the Journal of Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nursing. She is a member of several nursing organizations and has served in several organizational leadership positions. Most notably she is the past National President of the Society of Pediatric Nursing.

Dr. Mohr is an elected Fellow in the Illinois Institute of Medicine, Overseas Fellow in the Royal Academy of Medicine, London England, and a Fellow of the Clinical Nurse Specialist Institute.
