Daphne is a Certified Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurse with 20 years of nursing experience in a variety of clinical settings including community hospitals, post-acute care, outpatient wound clinics, home health, industry and a large teaching institution. Daphne holds the position of Program Chair for the Ostomy Association of Ventura County affiliate of the United Ostomy Association of America. She is also a member of Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses’ Society. She previously held positions on the Pacific Coast Region of the WOCN Society as Education Chair and Secretary between 2010-2017.
She studied nursing at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada where she graduated with her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing degree. She is currently working on her Master’s of Science in Nursing degree. Her nursing career began in Emergency Medicine, however her passion for wound and ostomy care motivated her successful graduation from Cleveland Clinic as a certified Enterostomal Therapist in 2004. She has now been certified as wound, ostomy and continence nurse for 17 years. She advanced her wound care career at Community Memorial Hospital where she developed a successful inpatient wound care program, with a strong emphasis on Pressure Injury Prevention, actively participates on the Skin Committee, Education Committee, Patient Safety Committee, Nursing Practice Council, Professional Development Council, Clinical Quality and Value Analysis Committee. Daphne is now the Coordinator of the Wound and Ostomy Program of Community Memorial Health System.
