Intended Learners

This conference is designed for physicians, nursing professionals, physician associates/assistants, physical therapists, researchers, scientists, podiatrists, and dietitians across all practice settings involved in wound healing or wound care issues. SAWC Fall provides attendees who study and treat wounds with state-of-the-art reviews of clinical problems and research information.

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Employ an interdisciplinary approach to wound prevention and treatment
  • Explore cases of difficult-to-heal, complex, chronic, and atypical wounds in which current, emerging, and innovative wound healing therapies were used 
  • Review current, evidence-based guidelines for treatment and management of pressure injuries, diabetic foot ulcers, peripheral arterial, and venous disease, including surgical and non-surgical options
  • Identify changes in the healthcare system and reimbursement that will impact wound care providers across the continuum of care

Alabama – Alabama will honor any coursework relevant to the practice of Physical Therapy.

California – This course has been Approved by CERS, an Approval Agency for the California Board of Physical Therapy. CERS Course Approval #: 24-51342-2 CA

Hawaii – The Board will accept continued competence courses in subjects related to either the professional practice of physical therapy or patient/client management from courses approved by another state or jurisdiction’s physical therapy board or is equivalent.

Nevada – This activity has been approved by the Nevada Physical Therapy Board for 24.5 hours; expiration: September 20, 2026.

North Carolina – This activity is approved by the NCBPTE by virtue of approval by CERS.

North Dakota – All competence activities related to physical therapy sponsored by the APTA, State PT Associations, Medical/Educational institutions or certified by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT) are automatically approved as "certified activities”.

Oregon – SAWC Fall 2025 meets the requirements for hours of continue competency in Oregon.

Texas – This activity has been approved by the TPTA 23.5 continuing competence units (CCUs) for PTs and PTAs. Approval Number 78044TX; Expiration: November 2, 2025

Washington D.C.This course has been Approved by CERS, an Approval Agency for the District of Columbia Board of Physical Therapy. CERS Course Approval #: 24-51342-2 DC

Requirements for Credit 

To be eligible for documentation of credit for each session attended, learners must participate in the activity and complete the session(s) and overall conference evaluations, and post-test(s), if applicable. Participants who complete the evaluation online within 30 days of the conference will receive documentation of credit. Your certificate may not load if you are accessing it from a smartphone, or settings of your browser do not allow for a new tab/window to open.  

Once a certificate has been claimed, physicians and pharmacists may elect for credits to be submitted on their behalf to their boards via additional fields that will appear within the Claim Certificate page. Credits must be submitted through this process to be reported to the American Board of Surgery and the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy.
