Tracey Loscar, BA, NRP, is the Deputy Director of EMS for the Matanuska-Susitna (Mat-Su) Borough, which spans over 25,000 square miles in Southcentral Alaska. Before heading for the mountains, she spent over 25 years working in Newark, New Jersey, as a ground paramedic, educator, and flight medic. She has over 75 published works, including the columns "When Johnny Met Rosie" and "The Midlife Medic." She is an inaugural recipient of the 2023 American Ambulance Association's "EMS Vanguard Award" in recognition of her contributions to prehospital healthcare. She is an author, national speaker, and EMS World Editorial Advisory Board member.
