Lawrence A. Lavery is a tenured Professor in the Department of Plastic Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.  Dr. Lavery was one of the founding members of the IWGDF.  Dr. Lavery’s clinical and research effort is in diabetic foot complications.  Dr. Lavery’s research group has published over 320 peer reviewed papers and text chapters.  This team has received research funding from the National Institute of Health (USA), Agency for Health Care Policy and Research, Qatar National Research Foundation, Veterans Administration, American Diabetes Association, American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and the American Pediatric Medical Association.  Dr. Lavery’s H-index is 106.
