Dr. Judd is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Southwestern School of Health Professions, Department of PA Studies, and a Psychiatry Preceptor at the University of Texas Dallas PA Program. She serves on the Steering Committee for Psychiatric Congress and is a founding leader of the Association of PAs in Psychiatry. She was among the first to earn the NCCPA CAQ in Psychiatry for PAs and Chairs the NCCPA Exam Development Committee and CAQ Advisory Committee. She is the recipient of the prestigious Parkland Health and Hospital System’s Lifetime Career Achievement Award as well as numerous other awards for excellence in clinical practice and medical education program development. She has served a six-year term as representative of the AAPA on the Accreditation Review Commission for PA Programs, and Chairs the NCCPA Exam Development Committee for the CAQ in Psychiatry.

The focus of Dr. Judd’s clinical practice has been primarily community mental health, correctional care and primary care. She has worked internationally in Egypt, for the Peace Corps in Uzbekistan, and for a private aid organization in Ghana. More recently Dr. Judd has been involved in a women’s health initiative in Tanzania focusing on rural community health education regarding the practice of FGM.

Dr. Judd has a special interest in patients with serious mental illness as well as geriatric patients with mood disorders and cognitive decline. She has written and published on topics regarding suicide prevention and intervention, moral stress and moral injury in healthcare providers, and professional practice issues.
