Dr. Cathy Lu is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Calgary. She is an IBD physician and clinician scientist. She has completed a joint advanced IBD fellowship with specialization in intestinal ultrasound at University of Calgary and the University of Alberta. She is an executive committee board member of the STAR (Stenosis, Therapy, and Anti-Fibrotic Research) Consortium. She co-chairs the scientific committee of iUSCAN, the Intestinal Ultrasound Group of the United States and Canada. She was also a past member of the scientific committee for IBUS (International Bowel Ultrasound Organization), and is a member at large for CIRC (Canadian IBD Research Consortium). Her primary research interests are in fibrostenotic Crohn’s disease, intestinal ultrasound, and biomarkers in diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment response in IBD.
