My academic career has focused on the study the tumor immune microenvironment of triple-negative breast cancers. After completing my Hematology/Oncology fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center, I transitioned to my current position as Assistant Attending on the Breast Medicine Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where I continue to conduct research on the immune microenvironment of TNBC.
I have also developed the MSK Rare Breast Cancer Program (CARE-4-RARE) which is a clinical and translational program dedicated to the study and care of patients with rare breast cancers. The main objective is to provide multidisciplinary clinical care for patients as well as developing a research platform with a prospective cohort of patients to improve our understanding of their biology and address a multitude of clinically unmet needs. The program focuses on aggressive histologic subtypes (metaplastic, neuroendocrine, adenoid cystic, etc.). I serve as the Director of the Program and Principal Investigator of the Biospecimen Repository. Additionally, I am the Co-Section Head of our Triple Negative Research Program through which I am developing our clinical trial portfolio, additionally I am personally leading multiple clinical trials as either PI, Co-PI or a translational collaborator.
