Dr. Nicos Labropoulos is tenured professor of Surgery and Radiology at Stony Brook University Medical Center, Long Island, NY. He is the Vascular Laboratory director and has a major interest in pathophysiology, diagnosis and treatment of vascular diseases. He completed his undergraduate training at the University of London. He did his clinical training, PHD and vascular fellowship at St. Mary’s Hospital, Imperial College, London, UK. Professor Labropoulos is on the editorial board of 11 journals and a reviewer for >20 medical and surgical journals. He has been a traveling fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, the recipient of the Presidential award of the Society of Vascular Surgery, the IUA Hippocrates medal, UIP gold medal, the Sushrutha award and AVF Founder's award. He has more than 340 publications being cited over 22000 times and he has given more than 1500 presentations around the world. He has edited 5 vascular textbooks and has contributed over 60 book chapters on the diagnosis and management of vascular diseases. He has received many awards and has obtained over 10 million dollars in grants. He is actively involved on vascular training through the American and European vascular societies and many other local, national and international organizations. He has supervised many PHD students and he is an examiner in multiple countries. He is a co-founder of the International Vascular Foundation, the Institute of Vascular Diseases and Venous Health Foundation. Dr. Labropoulos gives lectures in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Greek.
