Dr. Nazarian is a distinguished Cardiac Electrophysiologist and Professor of Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Stanford University and completed his residency in internal medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Following this he pursued fellowships in Cardiovascular Medicine and Cardiac Electrophysiology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where he also earned a Ph.D. in Clinical Epidemiology from the Bloomberg School of Public Health. After a decade on the faculty at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Nazarian joined the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. His research focuses on integrating advanced imaging modalities to enhance the understanding of arrhythmia substrates and improve procedural outcomes. Dr. Nazarian has been awarded multiple NIH grants, including Career Development and Independent Investigator R01 grants. He is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of researchers, having guided numerous medical students, residents, post-doctoral fellows, and junior faculty who have gone on to successful academic careers. Dr. Nazarian has over 350 published manuscripts in prestigious journals such as Circulation, JACC, JAMA, and NEJM. He serves on the editorial boards of several journals. He is a fellow of the American Heart Association, the American College of Cardiology, and the Heart Rhythm Society, and an elected member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation.
