Dr. Krummen is a Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of California San Diego. His laboratory focuses on the development of novel technologies to improve the care of cardiac arrhythmias. Dr. Krummen studied Aerospace Engineering at the University of Notre Dame and completed his Medical Doctorate and Internal Medicine residency at the Ohio State University. He then completed fellowships in Cardiology and Electrophysiology at the University of California San Diego. He has received grant funding from the National Institutes of Health, the American Heart Association, the University of California Center for Accelerated Innovation, and the UCSD Rady School of Management. Dr. Krummen received the UCSD Chancellor’s Innovation Award in 2024 for the co-invention of an artificial intelligence platform which analyzes arrhythmias using the 12-lead ECG. He received the UCSD Chief Internal Medicine Resident Teaching Award in 2016 and is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
