Jill Schaeffer MSN, CRNP has been an EP nurse practitioner for Penn Medicine – Lancaster General Health, The Heart Group for 26 years. She has earned a master’s degree, as well as a post -masters certificate, in adult critical care from the University of Pennsylvania. With over 30 years of nursing experience, she holds certifications as an Acute Care Nurse practitioner, CCRN, IBHRE cardiac device specialist-allied professional, and IBHRE cardiac electrophysiology specialist- allied professional.
She previously served as a Board of Trustees member for the Heart Rhythm Society. She has served on various HRS committees including inaugural Chair of the Leadership and Education for Allied Professionals (LEAP) committee, Co-Chair of the Allied Professional Council, Scientific Session planning team, Education Programming subcommittee and the Digital Health Committee. As part of her work on the BOT, she participated in HRS’s Strategic Planning initiative in 2019. Currently, she is vice chair for the Patient Education and Caregivers committee.
In 2011, she was awarded the Highest Scoring Abstract Award in the Category Allied Professional. She was awarded the “Distinguished Allied Professional” award from HRS in 2022. In 2024, she was awarded the Penn Medicine Barbara A. Todd Leadership Award for Advanced Practice Providers. Jill enjoys teaching and expanding the role of allied professionals in EP. She is a frequent speaker for various groups concerning EP topics – most commonly regarding AF standards of care, using advanced practice providers to optimize EP care, and care of the dysautonomia patient.
