Dr. Lindsay Karr Thornton, M.D. is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Interventional Radiology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Dr. Thornton earned her medical degree from University of Vermont in Burlington, VT and completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Rutgers-University Hospital in Newark, NJ. She went on to complete her residency in Diagnostic Radiology at University of Florida in Gainesville, FL during which she served as the Clinical Education Chair for the Society of Interventional Radiology’s Resident, Fellow and Student (RFS) section. She also served as Chief Resident of Research in her final year of residency. She achieved several awards during her training, among these, was the Excellence in Interventional Radiology Award which was presented at University of Florida Graduation May 2018. She then completed her Vascular and Interventional Radiology training at Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine in New York City. She is certified by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology.

Dr. Thornton’s clinical, professional, and research interests are in interventional oncology. She serves as Medical Director for Interventional Radiology at Jackson Memorial Hospital as well as Interventional Oncology Service Line Leader. Dr. Thornton is also a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology and serves on the society’s Interventional Oncology Service Line. More specifically, her passion is treating patients longitudinally, who are battling hepatocellular carcinoma. As such, she co-leads the Hepatocellular Clinical Operations Committee for Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
