Bruce Fischer, PhD is a Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and has been in private practice for 46 years. He provides individual, group and family therapy. He has provided family of origin work with hundreds of individual and families dealing with a variety of alcohol, drug, sex and work addiction problems. He holds a Ph.D. in Family Social Science as well as certificates in Chemical Dependency Counseling, Family Therapy and Addiction Counseling and Chemical Dependency and Family Intimacy (Sex Counseling).

Presently he is a Senior Research & Clinical Psychology faculty, Emeritus at Capella University located in Minneapolis. Previously he was Chair of the Addiction Psychology program, and prior to that he was the co-founder and Associate Dean, Director of Training and the Director of Continuing Education of the School of Psychology at Capella.

He has been a nationally recognized trainer and consultant for 47 years in the areas of chemical dependency and family dysfunction and their impacts upon the individual and family. During his career, he has provided over 500 training workshops for lay people and mental health & addiction professionals. He has also authored professional articles in the areas of shame, working with resistance, substance & sexual addictions, treatment of sex addiction, family therapy, suicidal behavior, music & healing, and teaching professional psychology.
