A general surgeon with over 30 years of clinical wound care experience, Dr. Covington has lectured throughout the US and internationally on wound care and hyperbaric medicine. He has served as an advisor to both industry and government on wound related issues and opportunities. As Exective Vice Presidient of Medical Affairs for Healogics, he trained thousands of physicians and nurses on the fundamentals of wound care and hyperbaric medicine. Certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Covington completed his undergraduate and medical education at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He trained in general surgery at the University of Texas (Houston). In addition, he completed the Thomas G. Cronin fellowship in plastic surgery and wound healing research at the University of Texas. Dr. Covington is a Certified Wound Specialist–Physician is recognized by the American Board of Wound Management.
