Dr. Tarricone is a highly accomplished podiatrist specializing in diabetic limb salvage and research. He holds a Master's degree in Biostatistics from the Icahn School of Medicine and a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and a fellowship in diabetic limb salvage and research at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
He has a passion for research, and this is reflected in his awards and publications. His research interests have led to collaboration across multiple specialties including translational research, podiatry, interventional cardiology, vascular surgery, and orthopedic surgery. While his research efforts have been interdisciplinary the focus has remained consistent: preservation of the lower extremity and limb salvage. He has contributed several investigator-initiated studies on topics ranging from critical limb ischemia to in-stent restenosis, as well as epidemiological work including women-based outcomes and prevention of non-traumatic amputations. Dr. Tarricone has published greater than 30 manuscripts ranging from validation of the LRINEC score to benefits of total ankle replacements in diabetic patients. He has presented research findings at prestigious national and international meetings including American Diabetes Association (ADA) , American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS) , American Society of Podiatric Surgeons (ASPS), American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Surgery (AOFAS), Diabetic Foot Study Group(DFSG), American Podiatric Medical Association(APMA), the New York Endovascular Symposium(NYEVS) and the Symposium of Advanced Wound Care (SAWC). Dr. Tarricone and has received multiple manuscript awards and is the director of the podiatry arm of the interdisciplinary New York Endovascular Symposium.
