Kath M. Bogie, D.Phil, FAIMBE is a Research Career Scientist at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center (LSCVAMC) and Professor, Department of Orthopaedics, Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), with an international reputation in leading interdisciplinary teams to develop patient-centered interventions that meet the complex, multifactorial problems of wound management. Contributions include evidence-based preventive measures, including personalized biomarkers and bioinformatics complemented with smart and cost-effective technology development. Dr. Bogie is an elected Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering, recognized for outstanding contributions to wound biotechnology development and patient-centered pressure injury management. Dr. Bogie chairs the Education Committee of the Wound Healing Society, having completed a four year term on the Board of Directors. Dr. Bogie is co-Chair for the International Organization for Standardization microclimate standards development and serves on the RESNA Standards Committee on Wheelchair and Related Seating. Dr. Bogie is also Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Rehabilitation and Assistive Technologies Engineering and serves on the Editorial Boards for the Journal of Tissue Viability and the International Wound Journal. Dr. Bogie also directs the CWRU Additive Manufacturing for Biotechnology Core Facility providing support for the development and testing of novel biomedical approaches incorporating additive manufacturing to improve the quality of life and health for all. She has received continuous funding for over 20 years, from the DoD SCI Research Program, VA Rehabilitation Service, the Craig H. Neilsen Foundation and the Paralyzed Veterans of America. She has published over 85 papers and chapters and holds twelve patents
