Ed Mahoney has practiced wound management as a physical therapist for over 20 years. He is the program director for the Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) program at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, LA. Along with Stanley McCallon and Joseph McCulloch, he helped form the country's first wound management residency for physical therapists. He served as the director of the residency program in the past and remains active as a mentor. Dr. Mahoney has published several textbook chapters on wound healing and biophysical agents and teaches those topics along with wound management in the DPT curriculum. Dr. Mahoney found his roles as examination committee chair and board member for the American Board of Wound Management to be very rewarding due to the collaboration with colleagues from various professions that that opportunity provides.
