Adriana C Panayi is an Oral and Maxillofacial surgery resident at the Charité – Universitätsmedizin in Berlin, Germany. From 2017 to 2022, she worked as a post-doctoral researcher and faculty at Brigham and Women’s and Harvard Medical School. She has strong research experience, both clinically and in basic science. Over five years as a researcher under Dr. Dennis Orgill’s supervision in the Wound Healing and Tissue Engineering Laboratory and later as an independent researcher she was a key contributor to innovative research including the establishment of animal research models and development of novel treatment modalities for chronic wounds. She has received multiple awards for her research work including the 2023 H. Paul Ehrlich Rising Star Award by the Wound Healing foundation, the 2022 Young Innovator Award by the Peter Sheehan Diabetes Care Foundation and the 2021 Owen H. Wangensteen Scientific Forum Excellence in Research Award by the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Panayi completed her PhD and medical degree at the University of Cambridge where she also received a BA in Medical Science. She also holds a BSc in Neuroscience from University College London.
