A native of Italy, Dr. Paolo Romanelli earned his undergraduate degree in Humanistic Literature at Collegio Alla Querce, Florence, Italy and his medical degree from the University of Pisa School of Medicine on April 12th, 1984 with 110/110.
He completed a residency in Pathology at the University of Miami including a year as Chief Resident and subsequently did one year of Family Medicine internship and three year Dermatology Residency at the University of Miami ending his training with a fellowship in Dermatopathology at the same institution.
During his sixteen years in the Department of Dermatology at the L. Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami, Dr. Romanelli won five teacher awards, published in multiple peer reviewed journals, presented lectures at national and international prominent dermatology meetings including the AAD (9 times), EADV (5 times) and Masters of Pediatrics (7 times) and coauthored a very successful Dermatology Therapeutics book.
Dr. Romanelli is Board Certified in Dermatology and Dermatopathology, his main interests are Psoriasis and Dermatopathology and he has special expertise in histopathology of Wound Healing.
Dr. Romanelli provides Dermatopathology services and sees general Dermatology patients in the Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery, he is also Director of the Psoriasis Biologics Clinic at Jackson Memorial Hospital the only one of its kind.
He speaks English, Italian, Spanish and French.
