Dr. Edgar Sy is a native of Orange County, California. He recently completed his Orthopedic Fellowship at the highest regarded, premier Weil Foot & Ankle Institute in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Sy’s dedication to surgical innovation and research was recently recognized in a national level with his award winning Manuscript research at American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons Conference in 2023, where he presented his groundbreaking work on Obesity in Total Ankle Arthroplasty. He is ABFAS Boards Qualified in Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle and Foot Surgery.

His expertise and contributions have also been acknowledged in orthopedic literature with recent publication in the Clinics in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Journal, specifically on the topic of Medial Double Arthrodesis discussing innovative surgical technique, indications and contraindication.

He attended California State University, Fullerton earning his Bachelor of Science Kinesiology with a minor in Sports Psychology where he worked closely with the athletic training and exercise science department assisting in injury prevention for collegiate athletes.

He attended Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine where he received his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine and earned Barry Excellence in Clinical Science Award and Florida Podiatric Medical Association President’s Scholarship Award.

Prior to beginning his Fellowship at Weil Foot & Ankle Institute, Dr. Sy completed his residency at Jackson North Medical Center in Miami, FL serving as Chief Resident during his third year.

In his spare time, Dr. Sy enjoys watching soccer, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with friends. Fluent in English, and comprehensive in Spanish and Tagalog.
