Patrick Cheng is the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of eKare, a medical technology company at the forefront of artificial intelligence-driven wound care solutions. A biomedical engineer turned entrepreneur, he leads eKare’s mission to advance wound assessment and healing through innovative 3D imaging and AI technologies. Under his leadership, eKare has developed groundbreaking digital tools that empower clinicians to measure wounds and track healing progress with greater accuracy and efficiency. Cheng’s expertise at the intersection of healthcare and technology has made him a recognized leader in applying AI to improve patient outcomes in wound care.
Before founding eKare, Cheng served as a Technology Commercialization Officer at the Sheikh Zayed Institute for Pediatric Surgical Innovation, where he helped translate cutting-edge surgical research into clinical practice. He also conducted research and development in minimally invasive and image-guided surgery, further solidifying his foundation in medical imaging. Cheng holds an MBA from Georgetown University, an MS in Biomedical Engineering (with a focus on medical imaging and image analysis) from the University of Iowa, and a BS in Biomedical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
